On the sidelines of Paris Rally 2011 , presented his new McLaren supercar: the MP4-12C. Under the code name lies a real racing engine!
In 1993, the British automaker  had introduced a model with a V12 engine 627 hp : the McLaren F1. Already, the firm indicated that it wanted to make the production car the fastest in the world!  It could reach a top speed of 386 km / h. She was dethroned by Koenisegg JRC in 2005, then the Bugatti Veyron.

Then worked with  Mercedes-Benz, McLaren  to produce the SLR in 2005, a line and a spectacular engine dragster. Following the end of production of this model, both companies have joined their own land.

McLaren, who is now led by the dedicated Ron Dennis, unveils its new production: the MP4-12C!  It is in the Trocadero Gardens opposite the Eiffel Tower, the McLaren MP4-12C outlined in orange dress the most beautiful effect.

Conceived and designed for performance, nothing has been left to chance: large air intakes, larger brakes, downforce wing airbrake … Faced with competition, one could blame him design fairly consensual, almost shy, but it is better to surprise the enemy!

Like the SLR, the new British supercar has gull-wing doors. But this is not its greatest asset. The engineers have focused on weight, and used lightweight materials to create a revolutionary chassis monocell while carbon. Its weight is 1300 kg and content!

Depending on the speed and pressure exerted on the brake pedal, the spoiler is deployed and thus better control the braking and aerodynamic turbulence around the car.

If the front of the MP4-12C is very soft, the designers were let loose on the back that becomes aggressive including two generous tailpipes, implanted under the flap, which leaves no doubt as to the claims of this sport.

McLaren trusted Pirelli, and has therefore entrusted the ground connection of its new supercar. Thus the 19-inch wheels in front and 20 inches in the rear are shod with tires P-Zero 235/35 R19 and 305/30 in R20.

The valve portion is provided by a quartet of 4-piston calipers with ABS, dealing with pressure on the brakes steels. The rear calipers are added two more to ensure optimal braking.

The McLaren MP4-12C has a technological edge: control of active suspension. This system has sensors to control body movements associated with hydraulic cylinders instead of dampers. This change eliminates the weight of conventional anti-roll bars, and thus to facilitate the customization of the suspension according to his needs.

Like the exterior, the cabin is not horniest but the point is this. To access this space of pleasure, you have to press a touch zone on the door, which opens like magic. But this is not the most difficult because then you have to tweak to get under the door elytron and thus access to the cockpit. Once inside, the atmosphere is simple but effective. It is surrounded by carbon, leather and Alcantara, and thin seams finish a sober presentation of a flawless finish. All instrumentation is digital and accessible. On the wheel, we find two switches that allow for varying performance and behavior of the vehicle: Normal, Sport mode and ultimate mode Track!

Fail to address the essence of this sport would not be acceptable. Thus, the McLaren is powered by a V8 engine with a displacement of 3.8 liters, helped by two turbochargers. It reaches its maximum power of 600 hp at 7000 rpm, but the needle can still climb up to 8500 rpm! With the boost, 80% of torque is available from 2000 rpm.

The MP4-12C has a gearbox and 7-speed dual clutch. Pallets around the wheel round off the effectiveness of this transmission.
The performance announced by McLaren dizzying its direct rivals (Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and Ferrari 458 Italia) with 0 to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds shot, and a max. 330 km / h.
The McLaren is displayed and costs € 201,000 in France.

For the British car manufacturer, this supercar is a preview of the new range which will be presented in full by 2015. A competing model of the timeless Porsche 911 should come with a price adjustment.
