Recently reported a Mercedes-Benz will produce nine-speed automatic transmission (9g-Tronic). Mercedes has built seven-speed transmission (7G-Tronic) in 2003, this transmission is claimed as the first transmission system uses seven speeds. As technology advances, the Mercedes 7G-Tronic refine into 9g-Tronic towards a better and more environmentally friendly.

This new transmission was made aiming to improve the efficiency of a Mercedes vehicle produced. This technology offers several advantages such as improving fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions, which are not owned by the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. The plan, 9g-Tronic will be installed into a machine that has a large capacity or may be mounted on a Mercedes Benz S-Class models in 2012.
